God of War is an action-adventure video game for the PlayStation, which is based on Greek mythology. It was developed by SCE Studios Santa Monica, headed by David Jaffe. In the game, the player assumes the role of a bloodthirsty Spartan anti-hero Kratos. In his journey through ancient Greece Kratos learns four spells and many types of attacks for his bladed weapons. All weapons and spells can be improved with orbs, red balls that are released from defeated enemies, chests, and destructible objects such as amphorae.
